Steps to Apply:
- Contact Berkeley Environmental Health to request the MEHKO application and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) form.
- Submit the completed application packet with supporting documents.
- Schedule and pass a home kitchen inspection.
- Pay the annual permit fee to receive your permit to operate.
Key Requirements:
- Operator must hold a Certified Food Safety Manager certificate.
- Any helpers need Food Handler cards.
- Meal caps: 30 meals/day or 90/week.
- Annual gross sales capped at $100,000.
