“The board, on a 3-2 vote Tuesday with Chairwoman Erin Hannigan and Supervisor John Vasquez dissenting, approved the operations for the entirely of the county. The regulations it set, however, only govern those kitchens in the unincorporated areas…
Under this option, only an initial permit with an initial inspection would be required . . . and there would be no subsequent annual permit renewal or routine inspection. Staff would still respond and inspect if a complaint were filed and evaluate the operations at that time”

“The Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday to opt in to a law allowing individuals in single-family homes to legally prepare and sell certain foods to the public. The law, based on Assembly Bill 626, creates a new food facility category: microenterprise home kitchen operations (MEHKOs).”

Yes we need it in San Bernardino county
We need it in San Bernardino county. It’s about time. It’s almost impossible to lease a commercial place and most of us are middle class residents. I have an international degree in culinary but can’t afford to practice my skills and talents.
Please get Los Angeles county approve. It is so hard for restaurant people continue to operate with crazy high rents and cost. We need the permit to test new market without losing our house and liver.
Ive been in the food service industry since graduating in Hospitality Management years ago. When is LA County going to get on board with MHKO? Its time . We all have to make a living without the outrageous overhead outside the home.
