Starting a Microenterprise Home Kitchen Operation (MEHKO) in Sonoma County is now possible!
✅ Sonoma County’s MEHKO program officially launched in 2025!
Steps to Apply:
- Contact Sonoma County Environmental Health to request the MEHKO application packet.
- Complete the application form, write a simple kitchen operating plan, and list your menu.
- Provide proof of Food Manager Certification and Food Handler Cards for helpers.
- Schedule a home kitchen inspection.
- Once approved, you can start serving meals from your home!
Key Requirements:
- Your kitchen must be inside your primary residence.
- Limited to 30 meals/day, 90 meals/week, and $100,000/year maximum sales.
